Players/Parents/Guardians,

   On behalf of myself and the Steel City Summer Basketball League staff, we would like to welcome all returning and new players to our league. We are excited about the upcoming season and hope you are too. To keep everyone updated on the latest changes and information, we ask for your cooperation.

Your daughters have been contacted by their coaches, who will provide most of the information during league play.

Please arrive early for your games tomorrow to ensure that registration is paid and players have time to receive their game jerseys and updated website image. All rosters have been updated on this page. Please take a moment to click on your daughter's team page above.

Opening Night Games!!! (Mon Jun 17th)

6PM - Cedarbrook GC vs Slagus Howard Hanna

7pm - AMD vs BeeGraphix

8pm - Monessen Florist vs Trailside

** One game a night will be the "Featured Game" that will be streamed Live with MVI Live

Fees: (We prefer Venmo if possible)

• League fees will be $100 per player. 
• League Fees are due the before the First Game Played for each player (Unless previous arrangements have been made)
• League Registration fee can be paid by cash or on Venmo:  @SteelCity_SBL
• -In Venmo "What's it for?" Please enter: PLAYER FIRST NAME, PLAYER LAST NAME, (then type) LEAGUE FEE
• If it ask to verify the last (4) numbers, please use 1909
• League fees will include: a "dye diffused" game jersey (yours to keep), all 10 games and playoffs games (if applicable) and free admission to all SCSBL games for players.

Roster Rules:

Rising 9th graders through rising Seniors are all eligible to sign up. 

• 6 total teams

• 10 Rostered Players (+1 Bonus Rd Selection)

• IR Rule: The Player must announce if hurt by the registration deadline for that season. If the player declares "injured reserve" (IR) they will remain on the roster for the following year or can be eligible if the injury is corrected by the end of the season. 

• No team can have over (3) players from one school district. (2024 League Rule Change)

• A player is allowed a "one time" re-entry into the draft over the course of their career in the league.

• Once a player declares their "one time draft re-entry" from their existing team, they cannot be traded or drafted back to that team in their career. (updated 6/28/22)

Games / League Rules:

• (2) 16 min halves

• (2) Full-Time outs per game

• (2) 30 sec Time outs per game

• A 5 min overtime period will be used if necessary.

• (1) additional 30sec time out will be awarded to each OT team. (Unused timeouts will not carry over into OT period.)

• Running Clock Rule: (in 2nd half with 6 minutes remaining) +20 points (Does not reset if it goes under 20)

•All Defenses are allowed (2024 League Rule Change)

• (2) Technical fouls in one game will result in disqualification from the game and a (1) game suspension in the next scheduled game.

• (2) technical disqualifications will result in a career expulsion from our league.

• All other WPIAL High school team will apply. 

• Top (4) teams make the playoffs.

• A player must be present for (4) games to be eligible to play in the playoffs. (League official will make exceptions based on each individuals situation if needed)

• All games will be played at Marx's Court Time

• Referees: (2) NCAA/WPIAL/PIAA sanctioned referees will be utilized during the regular season and playoffs
